I Almost Didn't Write This
Read Time: 2 Minutes
This newsletter will be short.
Because I almost didn’t write it.
Life caught up - work, investing, training, people.
I’m tired, uninspired, and honestly a bit worried you’ll read this and think:
“Why the fuck did I ever subscribe to this?”
But here I am, showing up at 20%.
And let me tell you something:
Showing up at 20% matters far more than waiting for 100%.
Most people wait for the perfect conditions to act on their goals.
You know the story:
You decide to get in shape, save money, or quit smoking.
At first, you’re fired up.
You talk about it, visualize the outcome, maybe even share it with others.
Just talking about it makes you feel like you’re already halfway there.
This is the motivation phase.
But amigo, here’s the truth:
It doesn’t last long.
Sooner or later:
Going to the gym feels miserable when the alarm goes off.
Saving money gets harder when the world gives you a million ways to spend.
And smoking “just once because you’re stressed” feels justified.
I’ve been there.
And probably so have you.
The mistake most people make is to wait for motivation to act.
Because they think that motivation leads to discipline.
When in reality, discipline leads to motivation.
Motivation is unreliable.
You can’t choose to feel motivated.
But you can choose to act, even when you don’t feel like it.
That’s discipline.
And when you show up anyway - at 20%, 10%, whatever - you still make progress.
You get better.
You see yourself getting better.
And suddenly…
You feel motivated again.
See me?
The first lines of this newsletter were painful to write.
But now I’m surfing on this keyboard.
So, whatever your goals are - if they are aligned with your values - remember this:
Showing up at 20% still moves the needle.
Far more than waiting for 100%.
You got this.
See you next week,
Luca
